ARCHITECTURE SCHOOL LUMION

The school has 2 parts
Main section has lecture rooms, plenty of study areas, meeting rooms with large views surrounding where glass covers most of the buildings.
The second section is a more quiet area, more a library section with more study areas, cubical desks and lounges.
Where the 2 sections are connected through a glass bridge which can be accessed from the second floor of both buildings.

THE MOVING ELEMENTS

These moving elements were inspired from my findings in environmental science, where these elements may look aesthetic, but are actually practical and efficient for the buildings usage. Not relying to much on the artificial, coming from my concept, these passive deigns provide more natural means of  overcoming uncomfortable conditions.

Stacking Ventilation
The first moving element is an opening on the roof which provide natural ventilation, which this is a method commonly used in multi story buildings.
Through the large window it heats the central area, where the air heats up and naturally moves upwards and out the opening, providing a natural ventilation system.

Shading
The next moving element is moving shading device which would be optimal during the summer mid days as the sun would be at the highest angle. The shading device would allow heating and light into the building when necessary, where when it is hot or too much light is wanted, the moving elements will expand and provide what is necessary.
